The beautiful VILLA STORTA was built in the mid-19th century by the noble Grisi-Rodoli della Piè family for their summer holiday. The attached farmhouse has been known since the mid-seventeenth century, when it belonged to the Tapparelli family, and then at the beginning of the eighteenth century it passed into the hands of the Marquis Vitale di Ceva e di San Vitale, who retained ownership for over 110 years. In 1804 the property was purchased by Francesco Castelli, who in 1824 sold it to Carlo Anglesio, who, with a deed dated 30 July 1831, sold it to Senator Luigi Grisi-Rodoli. Work on the construction of the Villa was carried out between 1843 and 1846. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful country residences built in the Savigliano area during the 19th century.
Particularly interesting is the main floor, with the grandiose ballroom that occupies the entire north side of the building, masterfully connected to another, more spacious room that is part of the rustico . Of particular value are the rooms adjoining the main hall, which are also frescoed with paintings dating back to the late 19th century. Of particular note are the inlaid wood panelling in cherry, chestnut and oak, the splendid period terracotta floors and the remarkable blown-glass chandeliers. On the upper floor are four suites with adjoining bathrooms, all of which have been restored to a high standard. On the ground floor are other architecturally valuable rooms.
Completing the fabulous complex is the large park of approximately 4,000 square metres surrounding the villa, where high-profile events can be organised in summer and which is accessed via a picturesque avenue lined with plane trees. Special care and attention is given by our staff to the park and garden adjacent to the resort, which lends itself to aperitifs and civil ceremonies in fine weather.
In the park, two fountains and a raised hillock, probably a former glacier typical of 19th-century villas, peep out among the century-old trees and can provide you with some very special souvenir photos!
The spectacular outdoor scenery and the refined variety of our botanical species, also thanks to the nocturnal play of light, are the ultimate in well-being and total satisfaction for our guests.
